IBJ Leasing Company, Limited (the “Company”) was established in December
1969 as a general leasing company under the initiative of The Industrial Bank of
Japan, Ltd. (now, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. and Mizuho Bank, Ltd.) with the
participation of life insurance companies and major companies representing
Japanese industry. In October 2004, the Company listed its shares on the
Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. On September 1, 2005, it was
nominated for listing on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Since IBJ Leasing was established through the initiative of The Industrial Bank
of Japan, the focus has been on equipment leasing to the manufacturing
sector. At the same time, the Company has also been involved in large-scale
lease financing of vessels, aircraft and rolling stock, vendor finance for
construction equipment (where the lease has involved a tie-up with the sales
company), and has consistently taken the lead in cutting-edge areas that
emerge from time to time. Another one of our strengths is the development of
financing schemes that utilize leasing.
We have actively expanded our business base by acquiring the financial
subsidiaries of client companies, and by purchasing assets.
As a member of the Mizuho Financial Group, the IBJ Leasing Group works
closely with other Group companies. Access to the strong client bases of those
companies is helping us to develop broad-based sales activities.
In the coming years, the Company will continue to meet increasingly
sophisticated and diversified customer needs and work to obtain the
satisfaction and trust of customers. The Company is also committed to further
increasing corporate value by increasing profitability and strengthening the
financial base. |
